Sharing Success:

Stories of Indigenous Change Through Community-Led Planning

Community-based, community-led planning is a core function of governance. It involves mapping out a future in which everyone can see themselves. By bringing the voices of all citizens together to explore the past, acknowledge the present, and envision the future, Indigenous communities and Nations across the country are using community-led planning to rebuild and create positive, lasting change on their journeys to self-determination.

The Indigenous Community Development National Strategy (ICDNS) Working Group set out to document some of the many meaningful, long-term successes resulting from investments in Indigenous community-led planning at local, regional, and national levels. This report and the eight videos below connect those successes to standards of planning and reporting in The 7Cs and the pillars of community development outlined in the ICDNS.
