DRUMMAKING WORKSHOP

RESERVE YOUR SEAT!

A JOURNEY OF REMEMBRANCE
AND RECONCILIATION
What To Expect

Make a hand drum from elk or deer hide, and carry home the teaching that comes with it. We open by naming where we come from, work the hide with our hands, and close by sounding the drums together. One drum carries a heartbeat. Many drums together create a ceremony. Hishuk ish tsawalk: everything is one, everything is connected.

❋ COME PREPARED ❋

You will be working with raw, wet elk and deer hide.

Wear clothes you can get wet and work in, roll up your sleeves, and remove rings. The hide has a natural animal smell. Lacing takes hand strength and patience. Your drum will still be damp when you leave and needs 24 to 48 hours to dry before it can be packed or played.

All materials included. Your drum is yours to take home!

Reconnect with your body and mind as you escape the noise of everyday life.
